A bit of teaching from Ariel at Merchavia

Before our erev Shabbat meal, Ariel gave us a teaching. He spoke of the different weekly Torah teachings and how they all fit together. He gave the example of how you can grab a hold of someone’s finger and you are essentially holding on to the whole person. Each parasha opens up all of Torah. The Word is alive and complete!

Ariel also spoke on Balaam, the prophet who Balak hired to attempt to curse Israel. He was not successful as he continued to approach the camp of Israel from all angles. What was he looking for? He was looking for a crack in their unity. Reading from Bemidbar (Numbers) 24:2 – When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of Elohim came upon him and he uttered his oracle: “The oracle of Balaam son of Beor, the oracle of one whose eye sees clearly…How beautiful are your tents, O Jacob your dwelling places, O Israel!

To have unity is to be one…to believe is to have a complete heart. This is what protects us from the evil one. Isn’t this what Yeshua prayed for in John 17?
